Pi Wars Week -16: Body work?

The bad news:

Being ill and still having to go to work all week means no time for robot fettling

The good news:

I got better

The good news:

The shell is printed (minus the tailgate) and glued together, ready to be test fit on the robot.

The bad news:

It won't fit. The camera sticks up through the bonnet and there are a few other places where chassis interferes with shell.

The good news:

I can modify the shell to fit!

The bad news:

I had to Dremel out a big hole in the bonnet, half the rear wings to fit the motors, and sundry other bits for clearancing, and disconnect half of the headers for electronic bits to make it go on.

The good news:

Yes but the shell is on and it looks great :D

The bad news:

I'm probably going to have to reorganise all the components in the back half of the body (motor drivers, 5V reg, I2C splitter, Arduino for light control, battery) to make everything be able to fit with the shell on.

The good news:

It's nearly Christmas, which means two weeks with no work to mess around with robot parts!
